So last week went so well, we decided to do it again.....err.....

(1) 2001 Villa Bucca, Solid nose, and riper denser wine, showing good depth and complexity.

(2) 1997 Louis Latour Pulgny Montrachet: great nose, wonderful depth, good minerality and complexity. Showing very well at this point in time.

(3) 1989 Weingut Baumann Oppenheimer Sackträger Riesling Auslese: Cork completely soaked through and crumbled on opening, wine was in good shape but perhaps a bit ordinary. Muted nose, only showing honeyed sweetness but short length but pleasant

(4) Pra Soave, no notes, I did not get to try any....

(5) 1998 ... Chassagne Montrachet....Oxidized. 7 out of 7 that I've opened from 98 have been oxidized adn they have been from different producers. I did not get producer name.

(6) 1999 Domaine Remoriquet Vosne Romanee Malconsorts, regal, solid nose, ripe, secondary notes just starting, tobacco, cedar, wonderful purity, density, ethereal nose. This was my wine of the night. Showing really well with a good future ahead for this one!

(7) 1994 Fattoria di Fèlsina Berardenga Chianti Classico Riserva: nicely developed nose, good 15 year old chianti classico, had a nice lightness to the wine, good acidity level, still good fruit and complexity, smoother mouthfeel but shorter than expected finish.

(8)2002 Domaine Joseph Voillot Volnay 1er Cru Champans. Wines shows 02 well, nicely ripe fruits, cherry, berries, some earthiness. still very youthful but showing some settling down. Nice lush bodyfeel, smooth tannins, good grip on the attack.

(9) 1999 Il Colle Brunello di Montalcino. Pretty wine that is not overdone. Nice balance and great nose. Showing well at this point in time.

(10) 1978 Ferriera Vintage Port: Nicely developed port but not for the long haul, caramel, dried fruits, chocolate, delicious!

(11) Twenty Valley Ice Wine - SUPER NOSE. you could smell this thing a mile away. slightly letdown in the palate, as it was more cloy than balanced but not too far off.

Wellesley, huh!

I've got to start making trips to New England...

Come on, Foodie!! Eng lives a short hop from the shop, and I'm a few miles away in the other direction. We could have a mini offline right here in sunny New England - really cold, but sunny.

KC,

My wife will be out there in May, but not I.

She's visiting her niece, I believe in Boston, or on the outskirts, or wherever!

Foodie,
