Another of my favorite entertainers is gone. Buddy Hackett, he of the side-mouth delivery, died. A member , sometimes , of the " Rat-Pack " he was one of the great improvisational comedy minds I've ever had the pleasure to see in action. Almost enough to drive me off this derned sabbatical. Verne, Old (VERY old?) people die (especially when they live a Rat Pack style)...this is News??? YOU, like me, will live for ever due to the rejuvinating powers of our Child Brides.

But, I also LOVED Buddy and got to serve him on several occasions in restaurants where he was always funny but also always nice to the help (something a lot of entertainers could learn).

I think Don Rickles and Phylis Diller will live to be 200 so there is hope...

He was a funny guy. He'll be missed. Kathryn, Buddy......who's next? Bob Hope is on the verge.

it will be a sad place when we lose all these great actors. The actors of today seem to rely on action scenes, blow up something, sex and other eye candy to replace true acting. Plots are so mundane that even a demented person could follow it.

I have a memory of Bob Hope, some friends and I went to the Ohio State Fair just to see Bob Hope. This was many years ago, over 25. Anyhow, we stayed at a hotel and got quite roudy, and someone next door pounded on the wall and told us to quiet down.
The next day, we sat in his show and heard him tell of how he was disturbed by noisy neighbors at his hotel, and had to pound on the wall and yell at them to get them to quiet down, so he could get some sleep.
Needless to say, we sat looking at each other, wondering, was it him? We found out later he stayed at the same hotel, so who knows?
I remember Buddy, he was so funny, a great comedian. It is sad to lose another great person.
