Hello everyone and happy holidays! I am quite curious as to any comments you expert wine folks may have on the shiraz-grenache blend wines. How do you rate it as a semi-sweet red? What is a great label name to try in that style. How would you rate the Yellow Tail's version of this style; the shiraz-grenache is you've tried it and enjoy a shiraz type wine. I prefer a light - med sweet, not overly. and 'am having a ball with all these tastings. Had the Bella Sera Rosso last night with my homemade pizza w/ sharp cheddar cheese and it was just a magnificent evening indeed. Nice food pairing for me. Thanks & please comment on the above.

Welcome to the board!

Well the good news for you is that this combo has been around for centuries (?), and in general you will find them from wines from the Rhone region of France. In particular, I would recommend wines from the Chateauneuf-du-Pape region. A hot vintage like 2003 may fit your bill (though slightly serious wine lovers do not like them, followers of Robert Parker may). I've personnally not had any of the yellow tail blends.
