- kilflam - 12-28-2000 I received a bottle of Domaine Dauley-Sancerre as a gift. Don't know a thing about this wine. Any info would be helpful. - Innkeeper - 12-28-2000 Depending on its age, you should have a nice bottle of wine. "Old" in this case would be prior to 1998. It is a Loire Valley wine from France, made from the sauvignon blanc grape. It is made in a fresh, fruity manner without any oakyness, which plagues American Sauvignon Blanc. It also has a high degree of acidity, making it a lovely wine the accompany a wide variety of light, acidic dishes, such as entree salads. - Bucko - 12-28-2000 I'm just now drinking my 96s..... old? Bucko - chittychattykathy - 12-28-2000 I am just getting 1998's in, could most 96 vintages really be considered old? By the way, I am currently sipping a glass of Justin Monmousseau, 1998 which is utterly delightful! Very fruity, with crisp citrus flavors, ripe honeydew melon, and figs. These grapes must have seen a good amount of sunlight. |
