- lizardbrains - 01-24-2002 Winoweenie, I have yet to receive my phone book from my phone co., even though I've lived here for a few weeks. Anyways... I went online to find the Vera Cruz Fish House, which you recommended. I think you said it's in Carlsbad - is that correct? In the online yellow pages I was able to find one in San Marcos, and one in Temecula. Are either of those the one you were talking about? IK and I were wondering where exactly it is! We're looking forward to checking out your recommendation! One (2) more question(s)... what do you recommend at the restaurant? Any dish in particular? - winoweenie - 01-24-2002 Hi LB. It's just before the RR tracks on Carlsbad blvd in Downtown Carlsbad..( So. side of thre street ) ALL of the fish are great. Love the jernt. WW - lizardbrains - 01-25-2002 WW, Thanks! I found it! It's not far from me at all! I'm looking forward to checking it out. P.S. I can't wait to get a phone book - you don't realize how much you take those for granted. The ph. co. says I should get mine on Thurs. We'll see...! - hotwine - 01-26-2002 LB, try using the 'net when you're without a phone book. Go to AltaVista.com or google.com or Yahoo.com and use their search features to look up references to the business you're interested in. I used one of 'em yesterday to find a product vendor for my wife's business, when all I had was the company name. Found it in KY, complete with address, map location and phone number, all in less than five minutes. I just used it to find your fish houses, two of 'em, in three minutes: Fish House Vera Cruz, 360 Via Vera Cruz, San Marcos, (760)744-8000; and 26700 Ynez Rd, Temecula, 909)506-2899. Take your pick. The one she wanted is new and only 2-4 miles from her house. The other two are like going frum Heliotes to Dallas. WW I noted the search engines for me-very-own usage howm-so-ebber. I normally use Yahoo, so I'll try the other two in the future as well! I often forget there are other search engines - Yahoo tends to work well for me, and I just don't think to look outside the box! This place must be great if it's branched out to have 3 locations! - hotwine - 01-26-2002 Yahoo is the one that worked in this case. Go to its Yellow Pages button, and it will come up with a template to specify the city and state you wish to search; type in the city as Oceanside CA; when the city page comes up, type in the name of the business, and Yahoo! |
