I came across a bottle of 1980 chianti Brolio chianti classico imported from casa vinicola Barone Ricasoli Firenze Italy. I was wondering if it was still good and if it has any value. Any information would help, thankyou.

First a bit of history. Way back when, Barone Ricasoli was the prime minister of Italy, and it was he who was largely responsible for the official demarcation of the Chianti Classico region. That said, his winery makes some very nice wines, but they really aren't made to last 23 years. With very good storage it just might still be marginally drinkable, but don't bet the farm on it. Current vintages go for abot $10 to $12.
