Hi;

My second message on the wine board. I'm a new recruit.

Can any one tell me what a bottle of 1954 Ferreira Port is worth or should I say was worth. Three golfing pals and myself sipped it down after 36 holes of golf in Cashiers N.Carolina, dinner at Horatios in Highlands, and a little poker at one the foursomes mountain home.

The Port was a gift from my dad who was moving and had put it in one of his many Goodwill boxes. I thought forget Goodwill me and my pals would be better served drinking it.

I'm not a port fan but I'll tell you it was a real treat. The cork was cracking at the top but solid on the botton. I thought for sure it had gone bad. But it was great..Redish pink when we poured it purple to black at the bottom of the bottle.

I'd love to be able to tell the guys what something like that would cost if you could find it.

Thanks

Chad

Well I got some sort of an answer for you, even though I don't know that particular port.

The 1955 sells for around 239.00 a 750 ml bottle. The 1960 sells for around 360.00 a 750 ml bottle.

For want of a better answer, average the two and tell your friends that is what it was worth!?! What difference does it make if you enjoyed it?
