I purchased a bottle of 1998 Chateau Haut-Maillet. Wine spectator said it was the "sleeper pomerol" of the year and gave it a 93. I am fairly certain this wine needs to mature, but for how long? Is this a decent wine or should I keep trying? Thanks again guys.

Hi MF1. IMHO the wine needs at least 5 years from vintage to really start showing its guns. This is a fine bottle that will benefit from cellaring. If you had a 6-pack or box, I'd say go 'head and open the sucker. WW
