After hearing many people complain about the pretention and difficulty related to ordering, buying, and drinking wine, I decided to psot a blog entry with my thoughts about the crazy myths and hot tips related to wine. I consider myself fairly knowledgeable, although not an expert. Perhaps you could all weigh in (here or on the blog) with commentary about what you agree or disagree with from the blog. And send me some ideas for other myths or tips you recommend for novice wine drinkers?

Thanks!

[Drink what you like.]

BINGO! I'm all for matching food and wine, but sometimes it's fine just to toss the rulebook off the dinnertable and go with what works for you. My personal favourite wine/food match is either an oaked sauvignon blanc or a bold, buttery chardonnay with a classic corned beef and cabbage. (Yeah, I have Irish ancestry way back down the line...) Bone-dry Sparkling wine with spicy Thai food? Been there, did that. Sparkling rose with roast pork? Worked for me!

Just never drink Kiwi savvies with your fish and chips. That my friends, was a mistake.
