Hi, I was given 2 bottles of 1989 Chateau Coudert Saint-Emilion Grand Cru by my employers on a trip to Paris last week but cannot seem to find any info on them or on their worth. Can anyone please help?

Hi TM and welcome to the board. If Ch Coudert is a Grand Cru St. Emilion then it has escaped me and most of the people who love this appellarion. Can find nothing, have never had a bottle, so am sorry, no info. WW

Hmm...ok thanks. Any suggestions where else I can try to find out this info?

You have a Ch. Coudert Pelletan, and it's a decent wine, but not great. The 1989 is out there, but it appears to be hard to find outside the east coast, and I've only been able to locate it in restaurants. The current released vintage - 2000 - is going for about $30 retail. The 1989 is about $45 in restaurants.

Even with the full name I'm still in the dark. Atta' boy KC.WW

Thanks...it does not say Pelletan on the bottle anywhere(which is why I had so much trouble trying to locate it on the internet...all the sites I visited listed Pelletan). So are you sure it is the same wine? What is pelletan and why is not on my bottles? Sorry, I am a bit confused and obviously very green when it comes to wine!

Well, that's a problem, then, because I've never heard of Ch. Coudert without Pelletan as part of the name.

Hence my frustration and confusion!!I have no idea where else to search. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
