- Bubbabey - 03-19-2004 I am trying to find out the name and correct spelling, and what type of wine that I have listed. Not into wines, but would like some assistance if possible. I believe the spelling is "Altamara", 1999 vintage. Who makes it and why type is this. Thanks for the help. ------------------ Bubba Beyer - wineguruchgo - 03-21-2004 Hello Bubba, Welcome to the wineboard! Could the wine have been spelled Altamira? If it is it is probably a Malbec from Argentina. 99 was a great vintage so you should have a great bottle on your hands. - Stealthman - 03-25-2004 If your wine is spelled Altamura, it could be a Sangiovese or Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa. The 1999 cab is an excellent wine that should be drank at a special occasion. I have not had the sangiovese. I did find a bottle, 99, and I have it on the way. I really appreciated the help. Bubba - Bubbabey - 03-28-2004 Stealthman, Thanks for your help. I believe the wine you told me about was the correct one. At least I sure hope it was. I ordered a bottle, 1999, as I couldn't find a 1998 vintage. Thanks again. Bubba |
