Hello All:

I have been placed on a mission to find Romanee Conti or other DRC wines. As many of you may know, this is a near impossible mission, as most bottles are already proudly held in a collector's cellar. Are there any hints as to finding these bottles. Are there collector's out there who are interested in selling part of their collection?

Please forgive my ignorance on this subject, as I am just learning the art of collecting fine wine.

Hi there Beenkeeten and welcome to the board. You're not on a futile mission but you need to give a little more information on the vintage, which of the vineyard plots you're interested, what your budget be, and lastly where you're from. If you're looking for older R/Cs' there are several sources I can align you with. But to give you an example, ....1978 R/C La Tache...1295...1978 R/C Romanee Conti...2995. If you're still interested in more info post again. WW

Thanks for the encouragement WW. I am currently in KY, but I know the laws and realize that I cannot have any wines shipped to me. The wines will all be going into a cellar in California. As for the Vintage and plot... I am interested in DRC's produced in the 1990's. Of course I would really like to find the Romanee-Conti, but I am also interested in the La Tache, Richebourg, and other fine DRC wines.

Thanks for the help. So far this has been a great project to work on and I've met some terrific people in the wine industry that are full of knowledge. I only hope I can learn as I go.

Going to Calif makes this project easy. The 2 prime sources of old DRCs' in So Calif are Hi Times Cellars and 20/20 Wine merchants. You ca put the big "E" on them at hitimeclrs@aol.com and sales@2020wines.com. They will be happy to quote in stock bottles and the Gosh-Arful-Prices. Good Luck...WW
