Hello, I've been tryiong to come up with gift ideas for a special friend who's into wine, and I thought I might look at wines that last a long time after opening. I know port lasts well for a while, but what others? Do ice wines last once opened?

Othe gift ideas? I've been looking at various sites including this one, but nothing's "grabbed" me yet.

Ice wines will last approx. 6 months after opened if they're refridgerated.

I'm sorry but I don't think there's any way a wine other than a fortified variety will hold for more than a week after opening Brappy. 6 months??? Surely you jest. WW (Maybe you meant frozen)

Sorry, you're exactly correct. I was thinking of chambers Tokai I have in the fridge. Fortified yes, not ice wine. Please forgive my faux pas.

Speaking of fortified, I have a Port (20% alcohol) that I have been sipping on, unrefrigerated, for about a month and it tastes just the same as the day I opened it. How long do you think it will last?

Oh, and btw bio teacher, Sherry will also last a very long time. Try a Sandeman Amontillado.

Thank you so much for the advice! I never thought of getting a sherry but that's a great idea!

I have another question, but I'll start a new line for it.
