- wineguruchgo - 05-17-2005 I'm serious! I've been selling and drinking wine and I have never seen this happen before. I opened the bottle for a customer at 1pm. Wine was fine. Then I uncorked it for another customer at 3pm and it looked as if there was smoke in the bottle and I watched it come from the bottle while the customer was trying it. Any ideas as to what this could have been. Very, very strange. - Georgie - 05-18-2005 Maybe we should ask what you were smokin' at the time! I gave that up years ago! hehe! It was a 2003 Bordeaux Blanc. Very, very interesting. - Thomas - 05-18-2005 Quite common guru. The carbon dioxide in a young wine gets stirred up as you drive it around in your car, not to mention warmed up, and then it lets off vapor. Surpirsed you haven't seen it before; I've seen it many times. - wineguruchgo - 05-18-2005 Might have seen it before and just didn't realize it because of colored glass. This was clear glass.
