- rden258 - 06-11-2002 I am planning my honeymoon for this october. We will be staying in Napa Valley for 3 days. One day we are planning take a 6 hour limo tour of some vineyards. From what I understand, we should have enough time to visit about 4 vineyards. Right now, I think we are definately planning on visiting Opus One, and Beringer. I am wondering what other ones might be fun/visitor friendly. Any suggestions on some of people's favorites? Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Randy - winoweenie - 06-11-2002 Hi rden258 and welcome to the board. Looks like you'll be on the west side. The most friendly for visitors on that side are Merryvale, Whitehall Lane, Markham, Sterling, and Chateau Montelena. All have great tasting rooms and make fine juice. Congratulations and have a good time. WW - tomsch - 06-12-2002 If you like cheese, bread, olives, etc. plus some great wines you should stop by V. Sattui. They are located in St. Helena and have great picnic grounds outside. - Innkeeper - 06-12-2002 Don't miss Sterling under any circumstances. - cablover - 06-12-2002 We go to Napa Valley 3-4 times a year. You will love it! Beringer is definetly a must. Also since it's your honeymoon you might want to try champagne. Either Schramsberg or Mumm. Schramsberg requires a reservation and you will go on the tour. FYI, last time we went to Opus One it cost $25 to taste. Have fun!!! - rden258 - 06-12-2002 Cool, thanks everybody. I think we will try to make it to Sterling, Chateau Montelena, and maybe Merryvale. Its hard to choose because there are so many, and we can only visit a few. We will be there for 3 or 4 days, so we may visit others as well. Thanks for all the suggestions. Randy - tomsch - 06-14-2002 Congrats on your wedding! My wife and I made the Napa Valley trip for our anniversary every year (going on 17!). On each trip we try to find some new places to visit and have recently stated exploring the Alexander Valley (NW of the Napa vally). |
