- drumm - 12-25-2005 Hi everybody, I received a crate of Chateau La Croix Fourney Saint-Emilion Grand Cru from 1993 a couple of years ago, but I'm not really a wine drinker, so I just recently came across the wines. Does anybody know if they are still drinkable? And are they any good? Thanks in advance! - wondersofwine - 12-29-2005 Welcome to the board. One Bordeaux vintage chart has 1993 as a very good year (not excellent or exceptional). Go ahead and try a bottle and see what you think. I'm not familiar with the specific St Emilion you list but it probably has a lot of Merlot wine in the blend and will perhaps be less tannic than a Bordeaux from Pauillac. If you are not really a wine drinker maybe you should invite over friends that do like wine and get their opinion. [This message has been edited by wondersofwine (edited 12-29-2005).] |
