Hey! I have a quick question.

I recently was presented with a decanter and a set of 4 tumblers on a stand. The decanter of course, is normally used for wine.

1. Is it okay to use it for spirits as well? If so, what kind of spirits? (And how do i make sure that the decanter is better suited for wine or spirits? are there many types?)

2. Also, is is acceptable to use the tumblers for wine? Im curious as to why they were given with the decanter on the stand if the decanter is in fact used for wine.

Thank you!!!

Since the decanter came with tumblers, I would assume the whole set was intended more for something like Scotch or Bourbon. Decanters intended for wine would come with wine glasses or would be all be itself.

You may want to check whether the decanter is made of lead crystal and if so, what percentage of lead. Short term storage in lead crystal is okay, but long term storage could cause the lead to leak into the beverage and would make it unhealthy to consume.
