How to know that the wine is oaked without drinking & tasting it?

Hi zOuKiEe and welcome to the Wine Board. I'm the Innkeeper, and am having problems logging on.

If it is red, it is a Beaujolais. If it is a white Chardonnay it should say "unoaked" or "unwooded" or something like that on the bottle." If it is New World Sauvignon Blanc you take your chances. Most but not all other whites are usually oak free.
