Should you refrigerate merlots after you open it?

Hi Sebrina, and welcome to the Wine Board. Merlot and other red wines that are left over do better in the fridge than just left on the counter. They should be used as soon as possible afterward (a day or two at most) unless you have removed the air from the bottle by using a smaller bottle or one of the available air extractors. Let the wine warm back up to around 65 degress F when ready to drink again.
