I am visiting Sonoma in a couple of weeks and I would like some advice on some good winerys to visit. Particularly interested in Zin and Cabs. I am staying in Sonoma. I have Cline, Ravenswood, Kunde and Benziger on my list. Any suggestions? Is there a particular winery that is a must visit or a wine that is a must buy?

Hi Case and welcome to the Wine Board. Go to the top of the board and click on "Search." Type in "Sonoma wineries." Just did it and got eight results. The first five in particular will provide a goldmine of information.

Hi Case and welcome to the board. If they have time to show you around try Erich Russell at Rabbit Ridge ph 431-7128, Rafanelli at 433-1385, or Fred Scherrer at 824-1933. All these dudes make great Zins` and Cabs. Have a ball. winoweenie.

Eat @ Zin's in downtown Healdsburg. I love Ravenswood Zin, but I went there in Sept and was not crazy about their single vineyard Zins. Most of them had an over-abundance of pepper. I liked Gundlach-Bundschu Cabs(which is right around the corner from Ravenswood). The people there were nice, helpful, and informative (which made for a great tasting experience).
