Hello All~
I'm fairly new to wine (well, "good" wine anyway!LOL!) and am glad to have found this site. I've been learning so much lately and this board has been a great source of info. Some of the wines I've recently discovered and enjoyed are Rosemount Grenache Shiraz, Penfold's Semillon Chardonnay, Elk Cove Pinot Gris and this weekend I am looking forward to a bottle of Bodega Norton Malbec Reserve that was recommended to me. I am fortunate to live on the Oregon coast and am only a 2 hour drive from some terrific wine country. I'm looking forward to reading and learning more from your posts.

Thank you for your most warm welcome! My family and I are going camping this weekend with friends at the beach. Any suggestions on wines that would go good with cookout fare? BBQ'd chicken and grilled New York steaks? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

1999 or 2000 Cline Zinfandel or Ravenswood Vinters Blend. Tavel Rose' from Provance, ice cold. That will take care of the steak and chicken in that order. If you are not to slosh any sauce on the steak, try Columbia Crest Grand Estate, Cabernet Sauvignon.

Their dry riesling is very nice, good acid which is rare in a northwest riesling. Their 1997 Willamette valley pinot noir, while not exciting is balanced, well-made and drinking very well which is unusual for the '97s. Their gamay is a wonderful warm weather quaffing red, light and fruity.
