I bought these two Port Wines after a tasting. The LBV was good, textbook port by my limited experience. The White Reserve Port was like nothing that I tried before. It have the nose of hazelnut similar to a Dry Sherry, but with the sweetness and palate of raisins that characterize Port.
Anyway, my question is, I'm tempted to open the White Port but because I only like drinking a glass per night of port (or any sweet wine), I'm concern that this wine may not survive after I open it more than two days. How long do you think this will last in good condition after opening? What about the LBV? I know that it may not last as long as the Ruby or Tawny, but not sure how long.
I will post notes on both these when I open them.

In my experiance, I have had ports in the fridge open for about 5 days before the taste and texture begin to fall off. Maybe you should invite some friends over for dinner, the pop the port for a cordial. Plenty to go around and you don't have to worry about it going bad. [img]http://www.wines.com/ubb2/wink.gif[/img]

I guess a 750 bottle should yield around 10 servings using a small port glass filled almost to the half way mark, then I can drink a couple of glasses per day, that will take five or six days give or take.

As soon as I open them I will post some notes and let you know how they behave while open.

Hey I have a question for you. I see you live in Fort Myers, and Im coming down to Sanibel in May. I'd like to know if you can tell me a great winery store around the area. Im proposing to my GF there at Bowman's beach and I'd like to bring some wine with us.
BTW, We'll be moving to Ft. Myers when we graduate in 2 years--I know, I know, another northerner coming to Florida! Hey just try one of these Cleveland winters and you'd move too! Lol

The biggest wine store Total Wine & Spirit. Huge, good prices, I think. This is in the corner of US41 and Daniels Parkway.
My prefered store is Vino100. Is really small store but the owners Tom and Nancy are very nice and I love to go there to taste and talk wine with them.
Not sure if Sanibel have a Wine store, but it may since wine stores are booming in the area.
Even in some supermarkets you can get a good selection depending on your budget.

In my considered opinion, vacuvin isn't worth the oxygen it purports to remove--for any wine. Waste of your money.

Vino100 is south of Daniels Prkw and US41 in a new shopping center that have a Fish Bone Rest. Next to Galeana Dodge.
