Could you please rate these wines by their typical weight? 1st being the fullest bodied to lightest. Fruity Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, White Zinfandel, Johannisberg Riesling, Cabarnet Sauvignon, Buttery Chardonnay,Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Red Zinfandel Thanks for your help, we are trying to win a wine contest. Hi DPHorton, and welcome to the Wine Board. You cannot judge the body of a wine by the descriptors you have given. The next best method to acturally tasting all the wines is to look at the alcohol content on the labels. This will give you a good approximation of the body of the wine. Less than 10.5% = light, 10.5 - 12.5% = medium, and above 12.5% = full.

then again, alcohol level isn't always the best indicator. Its a good one, but I have had Zins at 14%-15% alcohol that weren't half as full feeling as a german riesling at 7%-8% alcohol. The only true, and well, the only fun way to find out is put the wine in your mouth and see how it feels. [img]http://www.wines.com/ubb2/wink.gif[/img]
