*ALL* wines have sulfites in them -- it is a byproduct of fermentation. Some wines have "no sulfites added." The amount of sulfites in wines is usually of little medical concern.

There is a line of very good organic French wines with no sulfites added imported by Chartrand Imports, 328 Maine Street, Rockland, ME 04841, Tel: 207-594-7300. If your wine dealer does not have these, ask him or her to contact them.

Here's a late reply: Frey Vineyards in Mendocino does not add sulphur, and neither does Frog's Leap in Napa Valley. Among the more famous French producers, Domaine Tempier in Bandol (Provence) and Domaine de Gautier in Provence make rich, sumptuous red wines totally without the addition of sulphur. Check out your local health food store if you have one. Those with licenses to sell wine often stock a good selection of wines made as naturally and chemical free as possible.

But keep in mind, Jose, what Bucko posted. Sulfites are "naturally" produced as a by-product of fermentation in wine, cheese, yogurt, bread and your very own body.
