Hi!

Some friends of mine who were recently married are really into wine, especially Italian. Since I'm not a wine drinker myself but would like to get them a bottle of something special, I'm opening my request to this board:

(1) For @$100 (U.S.), what recommendations would you make for a fine bottle of Italian wine?

(2) Given said recommendation, where on the Web would you suggest I find, purchase, and have sent as a gift to my friends this wonderful bottle of wine?

Thanks so much for your time and have fun with your ideas.

You have two great local options up there in Bellingham, one is the Haagen store which has a great selection and the other is Cost Cutter, which has a great selection and Jana, who is the wine consultant there. I would suggest that you go to one of these stores and have them select a wine with you.

There is a place in Santa Monica where I could buy a WHOLE BUNCH of very nice Italian wines for $100.00..... let alone one.

Consider buying more than one bottle, you can get some really good wine for much less.

Check with your local wine shop person as CCK suggested and let the shop help you pick the wine/wines......... GOOD IDEA!!
