I recently moved and retrieved some of my personal stash. 2 Questions: 1. Lost some of my original notes and wondering if anyone knows a site where I can find out about drinkability/value of vintages like below(most sites don't go back this far); and 2. Is there anywhere I can try and sell off some of these properly stored possessions?
82 Ch. Figeac
82 and 85 Talbot, Lynch Bages, + Ch. Meyney
a few 86 Montrose
76 and 86 Margaux
86 Chasse Spleen, Marbuzet, Sociando Mallet
and a few full and half bottles of aging sauternes

Selling single bottles is difficult. You'd be better off, IMHO, having some fine meals and popping those suckers open for some even finer meals!

wysper, welcome to the board.Here are some of the approximate retail pricing on the wines. 82's....Talbot..149...Lynch Bages.. 195...Figeac....195...86 Margaux.329...76 Margaux.195 ( Bad Wine..Before new owners retreieved the property). Unless you have quantities of these wines you received good advice. Very seldom will any collector but single bottles from an individual. Get you're significient other, pop a cork and get some brownie points. WW

Thanks both for the advice. Wine searcher has many of them--some still not listed. What's that mean? they're dead soldiers (like Louis Jardot Puligny Montrachet or Penfolds)? I should drink these fast?
Yup, I intend to drink them mostly (have alot of the 86 Montrose though). And will check tasting notes for when--hope they go back that far. This is my main delight/concern--when to start consuming these babies!
Was quite surprised that the 77 George de Latour (BV Vineyards-pvt. reserve) still had a few years left in it--bought a case of that 20 years ago in Ca. Strong life for a Californian, I'd say.

Yours' had to be the last of these ole' soldiers standing. Went thru 3 cases but drank the last one in 95 and she was limpin' badly. WW

Well, I'll try one soon. Tasting notes say it's for 2001-2005. I think that's hard to believe too. Only have a couple left so no real loss.

Those must have been Finnigans notes made at the same time he 'dissed the 82 Bordeauxs' as being crap. WW
