I LOVE red wine!! Ok, I like white too. Anyway, I'm always on the lookout for recommendation---I LOVE reds-especially Pinot Noir, Montepulciano and Chianti. In white, I look for Pinot Grigio or a sweet Chardonnay. What should I look for to age. What else makes good 'table wine,' good whine for 'special occasions,' etc...--remembering I lean WAY toward RED--any response is MUCH appreciated.

Hi Thunder, and welcome to the Wine Board. You seem to be on the right track. Try to pick up a 2000 Bordeaux for aging. A table wine in North America is an still, non dessert wine. Dessert wines such as some Sherry, Port, Maderia; and sparkling wine such as Champagne are not table wines. Most geeks use wines they have aged out for special occasions. Along the lines you have been trying look for a nice Rosso di Montalcino for that special time. Could you give us the name of that sweet chardonnay you found. All I have ever seen were dry or supposed to be dry.
