Looking at some older threads I've noticed that some of you don't seem to care for Wine Spectator; are there other wine magazines (or newsletters, etc.) that you would recommend?

The Underground Wine Journal is about as neutral and knowledgeable as I've found. The Speculator does dissiminate some good info ebber now and then but it be berry, berry commercial. WW

I subscribe to three wine mags: Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast and Food & Wine. There are many others available, with the Wine Advocate and Wine & Spirits being two that are excellent. Wine Spectator takes a lot of hits on this board, but it's a fun read, anyway, if for nothing else but its pretentiousness. BTW, if you order a certain amount of goods from Wine Enthusiast, they send you the mag free. Suggest you buy a few of those available off the newstand and sample for yourself. Both Borders and Barnes & Noble have good selections. The mags are so heavily subsidized by advertising revenue that individual copies, as well as annual subscriptions, are dirt cheap.
