Hi!

I'm new to the board and I need help. I have a wine cellar full of wine but neither my husband or me know which wine goes with what!!

Is there a good guide, book, website or anithing at all that can help us here? We have many different wines that we've received as gifts and would really like to learn how to pair them.

Welcome to the board.

Look down the board two threads, to Wine/Food Affinities; that's where we normally post notes on wine pairings that have worked for us (and some that have not, which is equally valuable info). You can search that thread by wine type, producer, food you wish to pair, or whatever.... just fill in the box with the term(s) to be searched for, and you'll get a list of hits, up to 200, that meet your search criteria.

You can also siimply post a question in that thread, or here in the Novice thread, and someone will be happy to answer.... usually within a couple of hours of your posting. Enjoy.

Two good books on the topic, both by Andrea Immer, are "Great Tastes Made Simple" and "Everyday Dining with Wine." She has a fun approach with lots of sound suggestions.
Also, a guide to tell you what types of wine should be stored and aged and what types of wine should be consumed soon after bottling (the majority of the world's wines fall into this category) might be helpful. Some of the "gifts" may not be appreciated if left to linger too long.
