- VP - 12-13-2003 Good Afternoon: I am in need of assistance in choosing a red and a white wine for a symposium for a Christmas Gala. Please advise on which wines would be a good selection. Thank you for saving me. VP - winoweenie - 12-13-2003 Hi VP and welcome to the board. Is this symposium having food, snacks or just booze? Let us know, you'll get many fine suggestions. WW - VP - 12-15-2003 Hello and thanks for the reply. We would be having a variety of cheeses with crackers. Something easy while milling around before the formal dinner. Thanks again! Castle Rock Cabernet Sauvignon, Calif Castle Rock Merlot, Calif Castle Rock Pinot Noir(Russian River Valley), Calif Excelsior Cabernet Sauvignon, S. Africa Milton Park Shiraz, Australia Bonny Doon Big House Red, Calif Laurel Glen "Reds", Calif All are good values, should be easily available and easy drinking.
