This will sound very naive, but I'm really just checking. How is Chenin Blanc pronounced? I've heard it several different ways. Thanks.

Also, what kind of grapes are used? Inquiring minds want to know.

The pronunciation is "She-nin (the "e" as in "tennis") Blonk" I believe.

Hi Queenie and welcome to the board. My Oklahoma dixshunary says it sounds like Shin-an' Blonk.WW

I have a natural advantage so there is absolutely no merit in my knowing this, but:

shun-a (this last "a" is pronounced much like the a in "bang" - don't pronounce the n at the end)

bl-[au] (the "au" is much like the "au" sound in "haunt", as in haunted house - neither the n nor the c is pronounced)

Many variations are ok though, my English is generally tolerated so I am more than happy to return the favor.

Also, that is the name of the grape.

I agree with Thraz, the C is almost slient.
