I live in NYC and I am interested in learning about wines. Does anyone know of a wine tasting course in NYC for novices?

Raychip, welcome to the Board. I think Kevin Zraly is still giving his 8-week wine tasting course at Windows-on-the-World in the World Trade Center. I took the course about 5 years ago and it was great. Check it out.

The International Wine Center (NYC) gives beginner courses (in addition to certificate courses through the UK-based Wines and Spirits Trust). It is headed by Mary Ewing Mulligan, author of IDG's "Wine for Dummies" series.

You can also try New School University, Peter Kump, the 96th St. Y, etc.

Cheers,

Hey guys, let us not forget Willie Gluckstern.

Does he not still run a wine course in NYC? Wines for Food or something like that......

I think Mr. Gluckstern works out of Peter Kump, but I'm going from memory here.

Cheers,

Last I knew he was a founder of Wines For Food, which is a consumer wine school in NYC. He is also the purchasing director for Nancy's Wines. He can be reached at www.wineavenger.com.
