Couldn't find this on an old thread ... Is red sparkling wine a new thing? I wasn't aware of its existence until recently. How dark is it? Is it made in the same way as white and rosé sparklers? What countries or appelations are making it?

They were once popular in this the U.S. At home we always had a Taylor Sparkling Burgundy for Christmas. Later came a creature called Cold Duck. After that, not much else here. Oz is a different story. They make Sparkling Shiraz and others. There's a post on the Oz thread today about just such a wine.
