In trying to follow a low carb and low sugar diet - it has been suggested to drink a low sugar red wine in lieu of other alcohol. Can anyone suggest a low sugar red wine?

Virtually all red wines have very, very low sugar content. Winemakers generally ferment their wines to be very dry - with less than 1% sugar. So, any wine the wine manager in your local wine shop recommends will do. Incidentally, a typical dry red wine will have about 102 calories and about 2.4g of carbs, none from sugar.
