As a nearly novice wine chick at the new bottle shop in town, I run to the experts for guidance, please. A customer (non drinker) brought in an inherited albeit well kept Carruades de Ch. Lafite Rothschild 1967 last week wondering it's value. ( I could see visions of dollar signs dancing in his head ala "Antiques Road Show"). Tried wine-searcher to no avail. Was able to tell him it was the second label of Lafite and that '67 was a mediocre year for Bordeaux. Will tell him also of the difficulty with a single bottle. Could someone please help me give him an estimate of the bottle's approx. value? I appreciate your help and expertise. Tbum

You pretty well have the picture. If you have the authority why not offer to swap a bottle or two of non-alcoholic stuff for it? That would be a fairly even swap. If you don't have the authority, see what the boss thinks. In other words, the value is at best around ten bucks.

TB, you can tell your customer that the big guy, 67 Lafite is selling for 125 with probably no takers. IK hit it on the head. winoweenie
