I'm taking out a friend to a restaurant that serves seafood. it's supposed to be a 5 star one. she likes white wines and i'm at a loss. so can someone help me pick out a good white wine or white zinfandel. i think she is more towards the light and fruity taste. i can get the wine list if i need to.

I imagine there will be someone posting after me with more knowledge of seafood, but I would suggest a good Albarino. At a 5 star Seafood place, I'd bet they have some!
It's a nice Spanish white that will suit her tastes and the meal.
There are lots of suggestions if you search "seafood" under the wine/food pair section.

Enjoy!

Hi Ddspec, and welcome to the Wine Board. VH gives good advice, but if they don't have one consider the following: If you are having shellfish recommend a Sauvignon Blanc. If you are having finfish look for an unoaked Chardonnay such as a Maconnais. One of the latter that is usually on wine lists is Cave de Lugny.
