Hi fellas, I'm new here and even though I've been involved in a 6 family wine tasting group for about 1.5 years now this is the first 'white port' that we are being asked to bring. Having some difficulty gathering info. A few questions I could use some help with are (1) why is it white? (2)What would be the different styles? (3) What flavors could we expect? and (4) What foods would be best? Thank you for any help you could provide.

1) It's made from white grapes, not red and has a shorter maceration, if at all.
2) Very dry to sweet-Lagrima.
3) Crisp, nutty, citrusy, sticky sweet, flabby, all would work, depends on the maker.
4) Makes a nice Apertif, with lime & mineral water and serve with some almonds, or a digestif served straight.
