Hi all,

I'm not a wine drinker but my mother has just given me a Benedictine DOM wine, which she bought in 1974, and I would like to know the value of this wine which has aged for more than 30yrs. Please visit http://sg.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/anglophileking/album?.dir=/5720 for the pictures. Thank you.

Welcome to the Wine Board. What you have is not a wine, but a liqueur distilled from about 27 plants and herbs. It's been made essentially the same way in France since medieval times. Most distilled spirits don't change after they've been put in bottle, so aging may have no effect at all. I don't think there's any appreciable value.
