Hi all - I'm tryign to decide on a wine storage system. I am thinking about investing in a unit that has multiple temps for reds/whites, but I have no idea where to start. Are there any brands that are considered the best - and any units recommended? Is a single unit with multi-temps better than 2 smaller units?
Need your help -
FYI I live in Northern California.

CG, ideal storage temperature differs from ideal serving temperature. For the former, you want a unit that will provide a consistent temperature of 55-57 F and humidity of 60-70%, for both whites and reds. Serving temps, though, might be about 45 F for Champagne, 50-55 F for other whites, 60 F for Beaujolais and 65 F for most other reds. A storage unit should provide you the means to preserve the wine while allowing it to mature, thus the 55-57 F ideal range.
