Does anyone out there know if there are any wines specifically made from the pomegranate fruit? Do you know of any blends?

Looks like we're lacking in Pomegranate expertise around here. Sorry Lynette.

Don't know of any modern-day production, but fermented pomegranate is as old a drink as fermented grape. On that score, I do not recommend the word "wine" to describe other fermented drinks. The reason: "wine" is derived from the Phoenician word that specifically referred to the juice of fermented grapes.

It is like caviar: a word that comes from Turkish to refer specifically to sturgeon roe and no other.

Thanks to all that replied to this somewhat odd request for information but I'm not giving up just yet. Keep me in mind if you hear anything more.
