What is the best way to store wine? I just moved to a house that has built-in wine racks. Each bottle space is tilted from top to low (the lower part is in the back of the rack). Should the cork be in the lower part? If that is the case, I find it odd that the bottom of the bottle will face the front part of the rack. Any suggestions?
Thank you!

Welcome to the board, Bella. So long as the corks stay completely wet, it doesn't matter which direction the bottles are tilted. So if you want the foil capsules to be visible, rather than the bottle bottoms, that's fine. Just make sure the bottles are close enough to horizontal to keep the corks wet, to prevent them from drying out, and shrinking, and letting air pass to the wine.

But the idea of built-in racks is somewhat troubling. It suggests that wines are to be stored at "room temperature", or roughly 72F. That's much too warm for wine storage, and will result in them "cooking" in a few months. Proper storage temperature is between 55-57F, with humidity in the range of 60-70%. You might consider using the wall space for something other than wine storage, and find a cooler space to store your wines.
