I jsut broke my wing corkscrew and a hand corkscrew on a bottle Bolla pinot grigio.

DId i do something wrong? i was cranking the first one in and it broke. i thought it was faulty. So i remved the screw and got the other one. It broke also. I used a hammer to attempt to ull the cork out by gripping the screw with the hammer teeth. This caused the screw to break again. So i ahve a bottel of wine with a broken screw in the cork.

Any suggestions?

Hammers have teeth? Get an Ah-So type opener. It has two prongs that go down either side of the cork, not through it. I have several, one about 25 years old. They can't break.

That's what you get for drinking Bolla....

I think Drew needs a time out!

I agree with KCW - get an ah-so. They are pretty good.

Have never been able to handle an Ah-so. Have and have recently seen for sale (around $20) a massive waiters pal with a half inch claw, and an oversized worm. It opens all troublesome closures.
