We are planning a trip to Corsica in a couple of weeks. I have heard that Corsics has some nice wines to offer, but I don't really know what to look for. Has anyone been there? Any recommendations?

Thanks!

One of my favorite Italian Whites is Vermentino from Sardinia. They also grow it and make wine out of it in Corsica where it might be going under its alias Malvasia.

You'll see Vermentino as "Malvoise de Corse." It is the best of their whites. They also grow Carbernet and merlot, but the ones I have tasted in the U.S. aren't so great.

In fact, if you find any good ones I'd love to hear about them.

I tasted and have a bottle of a Wine from Corsica.

Don't remember the name (I'm at work right now), but I like it because it was very "Tuscan" in aroma and flavor. It was a blend of grapes that I haven't heard of before.

I will post the name later.

The bottle came cover with cork, very interesting.
