I'm really interested in trying wine, but I really don't know as to what wine to start with. I would prefer something sweet and fruity.

Find a nice Riesling -- ask your local wine shop to recommend one.

Also, a Georges Duboeuf Morgon "Jean Descombes"

Either 1998 or 99 if you can find it. It is very fruity and mellow.
