I am planning a banquet & I've centered my menu around meat and or fish. Not being familiar with wines, I would like to have your advise on a list of wines with the unique flexibility or those that would concentrate on meats or fish not neglecting the lesser value of the banquet. Your immediate response would be greatly desired as this banquet is to be held 2 weeks from today.

Hi Psreiner, and welcome to the Wine Board. Meat and fish are very general terms, and one's first reaction is to recomend two different wines. If the meat is pork and the fish is salmon you can do it with one; pinot noir. Let us know your price points, and we can recommend specific brands.

If you are having beef and sole you need two wines. Let us know and we'll let you know.

Dear Innkeeper, Thank you so much for your instant reply and the information. My menu consist of Pork, Lamb, Beef tips and Lobster I am interested in a price point of $200-300 to compliment these meats and $50-100 to compliment salads and desserts.

Is that you prices point per bottle or your total budget. If per bottle, I'll let someone with far deeper pockets than mine answer you questions. If total budget, what are you looking to spend per bottle.

Dear Innkeeper,
Thank you so much for your information. The price point that I mentioned is per bottle not per budget. I'm learning more about wines with the assistance of very informative people as yourself. I appreciate your help.
Thanks again.
Psreiner
