Hi there, just a quick question....are there any health benefits from having the Beaujolais wines. I had a really nice Beaujolais-Villages 2000 red chilled 2 days in a row and enjoyed it. Please advise if this wine will be heart-healthy. Also what wines are truly heart-healthy and please suggest a few that I may try, given that I enjoyed the Beaujolais. Thanks again. Kaz

All red wine has a substance in it that comes from the skins called resveratrol. It is good for the heart in moderation. The only grape that stands above the others slightly is Pinot Noir. I don't know of any studies that show Gamay (the grape in Beaujolais) to be better or worse for you than any other red wine besides Pinot.
