- cecinadan - 03-25-2006 hi there can anyone help i need to know the best window for drinking a Chateau Mouton Rothschild 1997 as it's quite expensive to buy and i am getting conflicting advice. Shall I cellar or glup? cheers dan www.nosewine.com - Innkeeper - 03-25-2006 Hi Dan, and welcome to the Wine Board. I would give it a shot next year. Just going by the 10 yrs we usually give a good Bordeaux. - cecinadan - 03-25-2006 Thanks for the advice, but it will be a struggle to hold off for even a year! it's sat in front of me now winking saying "drink me drink me!" - winoweenie - 03-25-2006 Hi Dan. This is one of the stars of the 97 vintage and needs at least another 8-11 IMHO. This is based on pristine storage. If you have more than one bottle then I'd try one at age 12-14 and judge for yourself. WW - SipRedWine - 06-14-2006 If you have not opened it yet, I will post a reply this week on how it tastes. I am opening a bottle tonight! |
