- RJonesUSC - 04-26-2005 I was given a bottle of 1999 Ossidiana the other day and I can't find too much out about this wine. There no real 'label' but there is writing on the back which just says Sonoma County Red Table Wine. From what I can find around the net I think it might be Cab. Franc and Cab. Sav. but I'm not too sure; I figure it's a bordeaux blend. Any information on this wine would be great. Thanks. - Kcwhippet - 04-26-2005 Ossidiana is made by Viansa Winery, located in Sonoma and owned by Sam Sebastiani and family. You're right in that it's mostly Cab Franc. It retails for $125, unless you're a member of their Tuscan Club and then it's about $95. According to the winery, Ossidiana is drinkable now or can sit down for about 15 years under good storage conditions. Check them out at www.viansa.com - RJonesUSC - 04-26-2005 Thank you very much for the information KC. - jmcginley1 - 04-26-2005 that's a nice gift. |
