You might want to start on your quest of wine knowledge by reading a book or two. One that I found interesting was The Larousse Encyclopeadia of Wine. It is descriptive, full of pictures and maps and covers most all of the major wine producing areas in the world - old world and new world. It is available via the internet from www.amazon.com and from Barnes and Noble. - chittychattykathy - 08-27-2000 A few wine web sites to look at while you're waiting for your books to arrive, all have good amounts of info and several pictures: < http://www.washingtonwine.org/index2.html> Wines of Washington State, USA <http://www.oregonwine.org/> Wines of Oregon State, USA <http://www.chiantinet.it/> Offical Chianti (In Italy) web site <http://www.wineinstitute.org/> Lots of info on wine, mostly from California < http://www.bordeaux.com/flash.html> Wines of Bordeaux, France And <http://www.wineaustralia.com.au/> Wines of Australia The web can be a great starting off point, but do buy some books for more in depth info, and for handier reference. Kathy - samsweet - 09-01-2000 I SUGGEST TRYING SOTHERBY'S ENCLOPEDIA OF WINE. IT IS A GREAT REFERENCE. GOOD LUCK. SAMMY SWEET |
