I Was wondering what sort of wine i would like. I don't want anything to strong and I want something light and something with some sweetness to it. Im somewhat a whimp at wine...I can't stand something too strong [img]http://www.wines.com/ubb2/smile.gif[/img] please help!

Try Beaujolais-Villages for a red wine.
Try (oh heaven forbid I'd ever suggest this) White Zinfandel.
Or, for another white, try German Riesling.
Any of these might be good for a wine beginner, in my humble opinion. Also would suggest that you go to your nearest wine store and talk to the staff there. If they are worth their salt they will help you select some wines you might like.

Although I am well versed in gourmet foods and their preparation, I, too, am pretty new to the wine game. Yes, white zin would be a good place to start. Beringer has a nice one. Some of the lighter Pinot Grigio (aka Pinot Gris) might also be nice. If you are looking for a fun, informal wine for summer, try a Chenin Blanc. Before you spend a lot of money on a bottle, make sure you get some good advice !!! These 3 all have selections in a very reasonable price range. Sometimes though, you will probably spend a bit and find that you don't like the wine. When I find a wine that I like, I keep the label in a notebook (with some info) so that I remember it. The most important thing to remember is to drink wines that YOU enjoy, whether or not everyone else does! Winedope

The 2001 Beaujolais Nouveau was released yesterday. If we could have it in Blue Hill, ME last night, you should be able to get it in Arlington, TX today. It meets all your criteria. One caution, don't buy more than you can finish by the end of January, '02. It fades fast.
